Meet the People: Leslie Reyes

We the People alumna, Leslie Reyes, shares a little bit about her high school career and what civic engagement means to her.

Leslie is a We the People alumna finishing her senior year at McDermitt High School. She plans to graduate and move out to Elko where she will attend Great Basin College to receive her associates degree in Graphic Communications. During her time at McDermitt, Leslie has participated in several leadership opportunities including leadership classes to help better the school, Student Council where she held the position of Student Body President, National Honors Society where she held the vice president position and J4NG where she held the secretary position. She also held offices in a few computer programs including Yearbook Editor, Newsletter Editor, and Digital Board Editor. Leslie writes, “My plans for the far future are still a big window of opportunity for me. The only thing I am dead set on is being successful, happy, and helping others in some way. I do have something I would love to accomplish, but I'll let that be a secret for now. Although, the only thing I will mention is that it’s been engraved to me as a child that I was going to be successful and be well known for something positive one day. And I definitely plan to make that happen.”
