Update from the Nevada Center for Civic Engagement (NvCCE)

NvCCE has been busy in 2018. We supported Nevada elementary and middle schools and their in-classroom hearings this past spring.

We are overseeing the remaining four months of a three-year James Madison Legacy Project (JMLP) grant. This grant allows NvCCE to provide trainings in June and September 2018 for middle school and high school teachers from around the state who have participated in three years of JMLP cohorts.

Our NvCCE website is available: https://nvcce.org. You can find us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus.

Our Board members have held strategy sessions to determine short and long term goals, partnerships, additional civic programs, and fundraising plans. Fundraising needs include community outreach, infrastructure, textbooks for schools, stipends for curriculum trainers, and travel for the schools going to the State and National Competitions.

We had a successful Facebook fundraiser for textbooks for Bowler Elementary School in Bunkerville, Nevada. You can contribute on our website and by writing checks to NvCCE and sending them to Post Office Box 3344, Reno, NV 89505.
