Let’s all Cheer for Collaboration

Calling all teachers from Elko County, Eureka County, Humboldt County, Lander County, Pershing County , White Pine County we are so excited to kick off our a return to in person professional learning with you!

Our first in person professional learning opportunity since 2019! And that can only happen with a collaboration from the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Western Region, Northeastern Nevada Regional Professional Development (NERPDP), Carlin Combined Schools, Great Basin College, and the Nevada Department of Education.

The Northeastern Nevada Social Studies Collaborative (The Collaborative) will kick off on October 1st with a hands-on professional development day, focusing on disciplinary skills in the Social Studies. Teachers will earn NDE inservice credit as well as have an opportunity to earn a stipend for sharing resources created from the workshop.

Teachers will also be invited to participate in a year long cohort of teachers from the NE region of Nevada with quarterly in person collaborations as well as an online private Canvas course will serve as a place for continuous collaboration. The year long cohort will also come with additional NDE inservice credit and stipend for lesson plans.

Our goal is to use this cohort as a model for our future professional development opportunities around the state. We know the teachers in our Northeastern Counties in Nevada are doing incredible work with students and we cannot wait to dig into high quality inquiry based learning with you all.
