The Civics Lab: Turning Curiosity into Community Engagement

Join The Civics Lab, a professional learning cohort built around the Project Community program! This hands-on training empowers educators to guide students through authentic civic engagement projects. Participants will learn how to help students identify real community issues, research public policy solutions, and take meaningful action to create change.

Rooted in the interdisciplinary, action-based approach of Project Community, this training provides educators with practical strategies, project templates, assessment tools, and facilitation techniques for leading student-driven civic action. Build your skills, spark your students' curiosity, and turn your classroom into a launchpad for community impact.

    -Able to attend in person on October 18 (Reno) and the NNCSS Conference on February 21st (Reno)

  • The Civics Lab will include a blended model of learning from scholars, pedagogy experts, and peers.

    Teachers who join us will have the opportunity to learn more about the inquiry-driven, authentic assessment program Project Community

    We aim to bring inquiry-based learning to classrooms across Nevada and provide community engagement opportunities to a broader, more diverse group of students.
