IN PERSON SHOWCASE

It's been 3 years since we've had students share their projects in person and we can all agree, highly overdue. Thanks to the generosity of the Nevada State Museums in Carson City and Las Vegas, students will have the opportunity to showcase their projects in person.

Please save the date for the student showcase

  • March 11 in Carson City at the Nevada State Museum

  • March 25 in Las Vegas as the Nevada State Museum

*please note we will have a panel of judges for students to engage with and interact with. This event is part of the Civics Summit that will include students from all over the area.

INTERVIEWS

With a lot of logistics including testing, spring break, and two in-person showcases we are going to pre-record interviews this year. Students have the option to record their own interview (they should choose an adult or peer to ask the questions and answer them on camera) or they can schedule an interview with the NHD in NV Coordinator (Christine Hull).

This way students are still able to speak to their project, share their passion about the topics, and give important information to the judges but it can be done on their own schedule. This setup honors the students’ hard work but also allows flexibility for everyone.

There is a space for a web link in the registration materials if students record their own interviews they will provide a link to their video in that space. If they interview with Christine, we will add the link to the video.

SPECIAL AWARDS

YES! There will be special awards this year…they will be added to the registration page by February 1st so please check back for students to self-nominate. They will also be added to our website as we get the information from our partners.
